Low-cost LCD Frequency Meter

This project was submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirement of the assessment of subject microcontrollers and microprocessors. 

Frequency meters have always been ex­pensive tools for the average hobbyists. Now, with microcontrollers and liquid-crystal displays (LCDs) having become very economical and popular, it is possible to build a compact and low-cost LCD-based frequen­cy meter that can measure up to 250 kHz. 

The block diagram of the proposed solution is shown below

Technology

Hardware/Software used: 7805 Regulator, ATC89C2051 Microcontroller, CD4050 Hex Buffer, NPN transistor, diodes, LED, Resistors, capacitors and a transformer with C programming
